If yes, this post will help you transfer your site to Ezoic free Wordpress Hosting in a simple step by step guide. There are many reasons as to why someone would consider transferring their site to Ezoic hosting. It can be due to the origin errors primarily associated with some shared hosting, which usually don’t Whitelist ezoic IPs. Personally, my site was with Namecheap shared hosting before I transferred it. Another reason would be the need for a free hosting service, especially for younger sites accepted through the ezoic access now program. Usually, younger sites have a low amount of traffic, and hence the revenue is not much. Reducing the hosting expenses will increase your profit which can be done using Ezoic WordPress hosting. In this method, we’ll transfer the site by backing it up using the Updraft plugin, then creating a staging site on the ezoic end, restoring the files and finally setting the site live on ezoic hosting. The process shouldn’t take long, but for everyone, I have decided to give a detailed guide on how to do the transfer. Steps on How to transfer your site to Ezoic Hosting Step One: Install Updraft Plugin To install Updraft, do this;Login into the WordPress admin pageOn the left sidebar, click ‘Plugins’Click ‘Add New’ and then search for ‘UpdraftPlus’Install and Activate the plugin After activating, hover to Settings on the left navigation bar and select the ‘UpdraftPlus Backups’ tab. You’ll then create remote storage, as explained in the next step. Step Two: Setting up your remote storage Why create remote storage? Remote storage is vital since it’s where the files will be stored after backing up. It’ll be easier restoring them, as seen later in this guide. There are many remote storages you can use to store your files. Some are free, while others require a paid version. We’ll use Google Drive, which is free and popular. So how do you create one? Continuing from step 1, click the Settings tab on your UpdraftPlus dashboard. Under the ‘Choose your remote storage’ section Select Google Drive (as shown in the screenshot below). Scroll to the section that prompts you to ‘Authenticate with Google,’ click the link adjacent to it and link your google drive account. After your google drive is successfully linked, scroll down and click Save Settings. Step Three: Backup your site Still, under the UpdraftPlus dashboard, select the Backup/Restore tab and click Backup Now, as shown below. A pop-up will appear where you can select what you want to include in your Backup. It’s recommended you select all the options, including allowing the Backup to be deleted manually. Once you’ve selected everything, click Backup Now at the bottom. It may take time, depending on your internet connection and the size of your site. After the Backup is complete and successful, you can head over to the next step below. Step Four: Setup Ezoic Hosting Login to your ezoic account; under settings, scroll down to the WordPress Hosting section and click Get Started. Note: If you can’t see the ‘Get Started,’ ensure the site is monetized and integrated via Cloudflare or Nameservers. On the next page, Select Create New Site. You’ll be directed to another page where you should select create a Staging site. The next page should look like the one below. Select Preview site, and it’s here you’ll restore the files we backed up in step three, as explained below. Step Five: Restore files on the staging site After clicking Preview site, you’ll be directed to another, as shown below. If you have an SSL certificate installed, turn on ‘My Site Uses HTTPS’ and Turn on Preview. Install WordPress, enter your WordPress login details as well as your admin email. The details should be similar to the one you use while logging into your WordPress admin. Check the ‘Discourage Search Engines from indexing this site’ and then click install. After complete installation, click the admin URL provided, login into your WordPress site. The site will be blank, and you now have to restore the files you backed up on step three. Follow the procedure below to restore your website files. Install and activate the UpdraftPlus plugin on the blank site.Hover on ‘Settings’ on the left sidebar and click ‘Updraft Backups.’Under the Updraft dashboard, select the settings tab and click Google drive under remote storage.Connect the account you had set as remote storage in step 2 and click save settings.Under the Backup/Restore tab, scroll down and click Rescan remote storage (it will help you retrieve all your backed up files).Click Restore and wait until the process is complete and successful. That’s it. Before you set the site live, verify that everything on your site is the same as the previous one. You should check the posts, your settings, plugins, and any other relevant feature on the site. You can now go to the ezoic hosting tab and set the site live. If you're not sure how to do this, contact Ezoic support, and they’ll check it for you. Ensure the SSL certificate is functioning well to avoid errors. Install the SSL app under ezoic settings and turn on the HTTPS redirect if you don't have one. Alternative Methods You’re not limited to only using Updraft when transferring your site by creating a staging site. Other plugins you can use include All-in-One WP Migration, BackWPup, or any FTP clients such as Filezilla. Using an SFTP account on your current host, you can migrate your site via SFTP Transfer instead of creating a new site. This method is more straightforward, although it is not possible with some hosts because most use FTP.
